Carnival Craze: Queens of 2015

Carnival Craze is a four part series all about Carnival in countries all over the world. In this series, I’ll be featuring beautiful ladies, amazing foods and an overall history of the carnival experience. First, let’s start off with a few queens that have made the carnival scene their runway.

The music, the smiles, the melanin, the beautiful costumes, the bands marching up and down the streets, the copious amounts of food & drinks, the performers and the cool island tunes blaring sums up the entire essence of perfectly connected Caribbean carnival. Although this jovial occasion may appear simplistic in execution, there is a rich history of pride, resilience and triumph embedded deep within each and every one of these vibrant celebrations. Especially popular in West Indian/Caribbean countries, such as Barbados, Haiti, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago, carnival is as much about self-expression as it is about showing ethnic and ancestral pride.

I can’t wait to arrive to the Pearl of the Antilles or the Land of the Hummingbird for my Caribbean carnival fix. Each year, I am always captivated by the amazing beauties adorning the streets of these festivals. In their honor, here is a gallery of just a few of the stunning beauties that graced Carnivals all over this year.
